Hi, I’m Tyler.
Mediate with Tyler was founded on a simple premise: Conflict is not a failure; it is an opportunity for innovation. With over nine years of experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Restorative Justice, I provide high-stakes mediation for founders, executives, and modern professionals across the United States.
My practice is built on a unique intersection: I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Digital Harm and Human-Computer Interaction, and a Certified Mediator with deep field experience in crisis zones. I don't just manage disputes; I engineer the infrastructure for repair.
Global & Systemic Experience
My approach to conflict is forged in fire, not just theory.
Crisis Management in West Africa: While living in Cameroon during the Anglophone Crisis, I facilitated community dialogue and health services in an active socio-political conflict zone. I witnessed firsthand that community-centered resolution works where institutions fail.
Restorative Justice Systems: In California, I served as a Restorative Justice Facilitator for youth facing the legal system. This work honed my ability to navigate the heavy psychological weight of accountability and reconciliation, skills I now apply to corporate and co-founder deadlock.
The Digital Frontier: As a researcher in digital inclusion, I possess rare expertise in Online Conflict Management. I understand how disputes escalate on Slack, social media, and remote teams—and exactly how to de-escalate them.
The Philosophy: "Conflict as Opportunity"
I offer a Facilitative Mediation style (compliant with MCR 2.4111), which means I do not impose a decision. Instead, I support direct communication to overcome impasses.
On a personal level, my path to mediation is deeply human. Having navigated complex dynamics in my own personal and professional life, I intimately understand the uncertainty and emotional weight that accompanies high-stakes disputes. I bring this vulnerable perspective to the table, creating a space where clients can drop the "corporate mask" and address the root cause of the friction.
The Promise: Confidentiality & Strategy
For founders and public figures, privacy is paramount.
Absolute Neutrality: My responsibility is to the process, ensuring a balanced dialogue without taking sides.
Strict Confidentiality: All sessions are conducted under rigorous privacy protocols, with notes held in encrypted, password-protected files.
Operational Takeaways: Mediation shouldn't end when the Zoom call ends. I provide a "Resolution Roadmap"—a customized packet of summaries, agreements, and resources to ensure the peace lasts long after our session.
